Heated Toilet Seat: How It Works and What It Takes to Install
A heated toilet seat keeps the seat warm so it never feels cold. It sounds like a luxury, but once people have one they rarely go back. Here is what you need to know.

How a heated seat works
A heating element inside the seat keeps it at the temperature you choose. On the DeerValley smart toilets we install, you set the temperature with the remote or the side panel, and built-in safety controls keep it from overheating.
What power does it need?
Any heated seat runs on electricity, so it needs an outlet within reach of the toilet. Bathroom outlets must be GFCI protected, and most bathrooms have no outlet behind the toilet. That outlet is usually the biggest part of the installation.
Heated seat or smart toilet?
You can add a heated seat to the toilet you have, or get a smart toilet where the heated seat comes with an automatic flush, a night light and, on most levels, a warm-water wash. Every smart toilet in our catalog has a heated seat, even the Standard level.

What it costs installed
Our smart toilets with a heated seat start at $1,450 installed in one day, including the toilet, delivery, the new GFCI outlet and patching the wall. If you only want the toilet shipped, prices start at $392.69.
